"4D" is shorthand for four-dimensional, the fourth dimension being time. As far as prenatal ultrasound is concerned, this is the latest prenatal ultrasound technology. 4D takes three-dimensional 3D ultrasound images and adds the element of time to the process. This allows you to see your unborn baby in amazing real time detail.
Over 30 years of extensive studies have shown that 3D and 4D ultrasound does not cause harm to the fetus or mother. Routine diagnostic 2D ultrasound imaging has become a normal procedure of all pregnancies. 3D/4D ultrasound uses the same intensity of ultrasonic waves in a traditional 2D ultrasound.
We recommend having the 3D/4D ultrasound performed between 23 and 36 weeks. However, excellent images can be obtained anytime after 18 weeks.
We are now offering 4D Ultrasounds and Sneak Peek Gender Checks. You don't have to be a patient.
Our Sonographer, Michelle Perez, is available for anyone that wants to self pay for an Sneak Peek.
The cost is $50 for a gender check, and it takes 15 minutes. You will receive a CD of your images.
